Accumulating Community Service Credit for High School and College Students
Participation in community service holds significant importance for high school graduation and greatly influences the college application process. Universities actively seek out candidates with a history of community service, making it a valuable asset in distinguishing yourself on your college application.
Factory of the Dead offers an opportunity for students to fulfill their community service requirements for both high school and university graduation by volunteering with us. To streamline the process, it’s advisable to establish contact well in advance of the season’s commencement, enabling us to coordinate effectively with your educational institution.
Understanding Credit for Service Hours: How It Operates
In most cases, high school students dedicate 6 hours per day, 5 days a week to their volunteering commitment. Occasionally, volunteers will conclude their work early on select days to engage in our regular activities, training sessions, and classes. A standard 2-week volunteer stint encompasses around 40 hours of service, while a 4-week commitment involves approximately 80 hours.
If you intend to leverage this experience for community service credit, kindly specify the exact number of service hours required on your application form, along with any additional prerequisites you might have.
Upon fulfilling your commitment, you will receive an official certificate acknowledging your participation in the Factory of the Dead Volunteer Program, recognizing your valuable service or internship involvement. Often, presenting this certificate to your educational institution is sufficient to claim credit for your community service hours.
For institutions mandating completion and endorsement of specific forms, you can bring these forms along on your first day, and a member of the Factory of the Dead team will gladly assist in filling them out at the conclusion of your volunteering period.
Returning volunteers can forward any supplementary paperwork to our office for processing. It’s important to include your complete name, school details, required hours, and information regarding the preferred submission destination for the completed paperwork.
